The Creative Minds Summit will be at Noshville

December 17 at 6:00pm. Please RSVP if you are going to join us because I need to know how much room we'll be needing. Thanks and I look forward to another night of ideas, creativity and great people.

Quote of the day

“Imaginary obstacles are insurmountable. Real ones aren't. But you can't tell the difference when you have no real information. Fear can create even more imaginary obstacles than ignorance can. That's why the smallest step away from speculation and into reality can be an amazing relief. The Reality Solution means: Do i...t before you're ready.” - Barbara Sher

In the process

Hey everybody, thanks for coming by Webbspun Ideas. I've been working on scripts, the business plan, locations, equipment logistics and more lately for "The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb." It has been a daunting task but at the same time it is so much fun and a thrill to see this dream coming to fruition.

I've also been working on my goals for 2010 and there are some that are pretty big but also some that are pretty standard, just like we all have.

What is "The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb?"

"The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb" is the vessel that takes us on air and online. Bringing people closer to experiencing Nashville by showing them around while teasing and enticing their senses with the sights, sounds, the feeling and help them imagine the smells of the places we visit. This will be a full sensory exploration into Music City.

Ideas for "The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb"

Good morning everyone, I'll have a busy day working on plans, scripts and more for my show "The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb" but I'd love to hear from you all about what you think people should see about Nashville.

I have my ideas but I'm curious to know what you feel is the thing(s) that everyone should see or know about. Would you want to see me learn to cook or serve at a meat & three, maybe learn how to play hockey with the Predators or try to play ball with the Nashville Sounds? Some of you might even want to see me out on the roads filling potholes with the guys that do that all day or attempt to write and sing a song in a honkytonk in downtown Nashville.

Whatever you have in mind that you would want to see me do or try, feel free to comment or contact me. Have an amazing day everyone and I'll see you soon.

Corey

2 Bon Jovi tickets needed for Nashville concert let's trade

For 2 tickets I would offer a dinner for two at a local restaurant, good bottle of wine and a night at the Marriott. Any takers? The value of the above listed would be the same value as the tickets. Contact me if you are interested.

Personal Nashville Trip Planning

I've created personal trip plans for folks who wanted to visit Nashville but didn't know where to go or who to talk to. I am a local city guide and concierge who will be more then happy to help you plan your trip to Nashville. I can help you see things that travel agents and many travel guides/books don't tell you about.

C'mon to Nashville and have a great time. I'll help you enjoy it and get the Nashville Experience. Contact me to see how I can help you.

Creative Minds Network

A place where creative, idea-driven, entrepreneur-types come together to meet, promote and just share the creativity and passion for what they do and love. We're starting this in Nashville and will look to expand it elsewhere but let me know if you are interested in being a part of this.

The cost to be a member will be $120 for 2010 and this will be a very interactive group and unlike most social networking groups this will not require you to be at a meeting once a week or twice a month. We understand that you don't have time to always step away from your business or projects and we want to make this a place where you can focus on what you do but have an outlet for folks to know you are out there and a part of the community.

Contact me if you have questions and I look forward to working, creating and being a part of this with you.

To give you an idea of the type of people showing up for these events I'll tell you what a few of them do. We had entertainment production, stained glass artist, concierge, body artist and more. Southern Food in Nashville - Meat and three

Nashville and food is a tricky situation. We are known for fried chicken and most things fried but we are also known for meat and three's. We don't have a certain thing that we are known for when it comes to food but we are slowly building an amazing network and family of restaurants, candy shops, chocolatiers and locally grown foods.

What is a meat and three? It is where you go and pick some meat from a selection of anywhere from 3 to 6 choices and then 2 or 3 choices of vegetables on the side. For the vegetarians there is always the option of getting a plate of 3 or 4 vegetables. Each dish comes with either biscuits or cornbread and the desserts are most always delicious and homemade.

The desserts are often something along the lines of banana pudding, apple or peach cobbler, pie or cake. Always some variety with some places having more choices then others. When it comes to the pies you usually have some pecan, apple, chess, sweet potato, chocolate, coconut and sometimes even more options. Cakes are usually a yellow cake with chocolate icing, coconut and some others.

When it comes to drinks most folks go with sweet iced tea but you usually also have the options of lemonade, coffee, sodas and not much more then that.

Business hours are usually lunch time which usually means 11am-2 or 3pm. Some places are open for dinner but it is always best to check before assuming because most of the meat and threes are family owned and they want to get home to be with their family as much as possible.

This will get you started and if you have any questions or thoughts, email or call me. My cell phone number is 615-400-0966 and my email address is corey@webbspunideas.com

I look forward to seeing you all out there and trying our local foods and restaurants. Enjoy the taste of Nashville, ya'll!

Customer service and hospitality

When you go into a hotel or any type of business and you hear about customer service and hospitality, does it ever feel fake? The words ring hollow to often because they say them as long as you can bring money to them and it is a one way street. Once you need them to extend a favor or the hospitality back your way they just don't seem to care about you like they did before.

I've heard many frequent flyers and hotel chain members who complain about being one night or flight short of reaching the top level of membership and when they ask for the night to be given to them, they are told no. Yet when these companies need the business of the travelers, like now or after 9/11 they said and did all the right things to get people to come back and stay or fly with them. Soon after business was back to normal, they eased back and starting changing they way they handled frequent travelers needs.

Now I understand that businesses are in business to make money and I'm all for that but please don't be fake and pretend like you care so much about the customer. Yes, I've been in the hospitality industry for most of 20 years and most people that I've worked for truly care to keep the guest happy and it can be discouraging when you are told to do things a certain way and then at some point in begins to change and it is solely to save money.

Getting out and communicating with the public through Twitter, blogs, emails, newsletters and the like are great but people can see when you truly care and when you are just looking to get their money. They don't want to be nickeled and dimed to death but would be willing to pay a decent price to have everything included.

I would love to see the best of both worlds come together. The modern convenience and technology mixed with the old-school way of caring for the person right in front of you and not just seeing them as a dollar sign or a number.

As the economy changes and people reevaluate how they do business and whether or not they even have to travel will begin to see many businesses change how they treat the public. If not, they may not make it long term.

Southwest Airlines is a great example of that. They do things that make flying with them a joy. The other airlines don't and then they complain about the things that Southwest Airlines does. Change or close up shop may be the answer.

I just want the companies and businesses to do what they say and be genuine. Don't be shy about making money but don't try to rip everyone off in the process or be two-faced about it.

Thanks and have a good day.

90 minutes at Robert's Western World

Went down to Robert's Western World last night for a little while and sat a couple of stools down from Rhonda Vincent. Wow, she is a beautiful lady and she is sooo talented. I had some Michelob Ultras and I received a free sandwich from the bartender because some guy didn't wait for his order so I received a ham sandwich with fries. Okay, it wasn't gourmet or fine dining but for a lil honky-tonk food, it was good and helped keep the beer in check.

Great times as the crowds flooded in from the CMA Awards at the Sommet Center. Talked just a itty bitty bit with Rhonda, Manuel came in and the Travis Mann Band absoutely tore the place apart. They all are so much fun and the new guitarist really fit right in to their fine grooviphonics. Dig the rockabilly!

I love Nashville and I think this is the kind of thing that truly only happens here in Nashville. Oh, oh yeah...the irony is that I don't think anyone recognized Rhonda Vincent. She sat at the bar with a couple of folks, ate a cheeseburger and enjoyed the music. I think the only time someone besides me talked to her, was to tell her they wanted a drink and to help get the bartender.

Fun, fun, fun night ya'll!

Stacy Westfall interview

Coming soon to the Good Life Cowboy and brought to you by Corey Webb and Webbspun Ideas.

On this day, God wants you to know...

that what you are most afraid of is where your greatest rewards are. If all you had to do was wish for something and you would have it, life would be pretty boring, wouldn't it? God placed barriers between us and what we want, so we can enjoy interesting and satisfying lives. God hid our biggest rewards behind the ...highest barriers - our deepest fears. God wants us to face our fears, and hold ground in their presence, and let them go, and that's how we get out biggest rewards. What are you most afraid of? Say it, just start by saying it.

I got this today on Facebook and thought it was so amazing and so true.
