2 Bon Jovi tickets needed for Nashville concert let's trade
For 2 tickets I would offer a dinner for two at a local restaurant, good bottle of wine and a night at the Marriott. Any takers? The value of the above listed would be the same value as the tickets. Contact me if you are interested.

Famous People I've Met While Working in a Hotel
Tony Bennet
Great guy and cool as good be but his manager was pretty uptight. Tony was an absolute class act. We talked quite a bit as I escorted him to his room and I loved it.
Bon Jovi
In the early 90's when they still had all the hair and the screaming girls waiting for them. We had to move from one door to the other with the limo and yet the girls still found out where they would be leaving from and showed up in mass.
Garth Brooks
He had attended an ASCAP award program which he was honored at. Brian Romkee and myself had the pleasure of escorting him from the ballroom to his limo via the red carpet. It should have lasted for a couple of minutes but he had so many fans lined up wanting pictures and autographs. He took his time to give autographs and to take pictures
Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash
Really nice people
Bill Monroe
Very nice man and was honored to know that generations of my family had enjoyed his music.
Bill Clinton
Incredibly dynamic and charming. Coworkers that didn't like him before meeting him, liked him afterwards. Truly one of a kind.
Ralph Nader
I met him in D.C. when he stopped to ask me where he would be speaking in our hotel.
Kofi Annan
Escorted him to a meeting in our hotel in Washington D.C.
Bill Marriott
Truly a gentle giant who cares about his company and the people around him. The reason why his company is so strong and large.
Bob Baffert
The "rock star" of horse trainers. Always has his sunglasses on and swagger.
Willie Shoemaker
Small man in size but a warrior on a horse tracks. The greatest jockey in history.
D. Wayne Lukas
A legend in horse racing and training. Always a presence in the lobby or at the track.
I've met many more... So who have you met and where?

Bon Jovi: '80s legends trash their legacy by going country
ALBUM: "Lost Highway" (Island/Mercury Nashville)

It seems hard to believe that seminal Jersey hair rockers, Bon Jovi, are still around and releasing their tenth studio album. It seems harder to believe that anyone cares. Yet here we are, 23 years after the release of "Bon Jovi" and 21 years after "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Wanted Dead or Alive," and "Livin' on a Prayer."
However, instead of championing the return of hair metal, "Lost Highway" waves the Country & Western flag (at least that's what the marketing department wants you to believe). Clearly capitalizing on their oddball 2007 Grammy for "Best Country Collaboration," Bon Jovi has been pushed onto Island's Mercury Nashville imprint and re-packaged as an alt-country act. There's just one problem: they don't sound much like country.

Bon Jovi's new album of over production and clichés
By: Bradley Haering, Staff Writer
What happened to the old Bon Jovi? How did it go from "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "You Give Love A Bad Name" to "Lost Highway?" I liked Bon Jovi, they wrote some good songs and were worthy of their popularity, but this new album is just migraine inducing.
It's depressing to know that what was once a band known for its hard-working ethic basically phoned in its new album. It is one thing to pay tribute to your Nashville influences, which I was unaware Bon Jovi had, but it is quite another to completely rip off your Nashville influences. It seems every melody, lyric, guitar riff and drumbeat has been taken from another country song.
To give this album some country "street cred," Bon Jovi enlisted the help of country stars Big & Rich and LeAnn Rimes. "We Got It Going On" features Big & Rich and is your typical kick ass and drink beer country song, but it comes off as elderly white folks trying to be cool by using hip-hop vernacular. The song Rimes is featured on, "Stranger," is a sweet duet about love and "Looking into each other's eyes/ Till' we ain't strangers anymore

Music City Notes (from a weekend in November)
Country Music Awards weeked in Nashville
Saturday, November 4
A glorious day that was the perfect fall day that we enjoyed on a 4.5 mile walk through the Warner Parks. After working up a really good appetite we went to P.F. Chang's for dinner. The food, service and ambiance were top notch.
We wandered downtown aferwards and stumbled across a concert in front of the Gaylord Entertainment Center and there we saw Josh Gracin perform for the first time in Nashville with his full band. What a show they put on! He worked the crowd like crazy and kept them interested and excited. He did his own songs that most everyone knew but also did some cover tunes as well. They covered the songs “Working For The Weekend” by Loverboy and "Jump" by Van Halen and the whole place was loving every second of it.
His whole band was really good but the ones who got my attention were the guys on bass, drums and lead guitar. They were were incredible and the lead guitarist looked just like Jeff Daniel’s character in Dumb and Dumber. Big difference though this guy had talent and the ladies seemed to love him.
Gretchen Wilson played before Josh. She was a surprise guest and I don't believe she had a large crowd. We missed her entire show but heard that it was really good from a guy who went staggering past us.
The night was beautiful with a beautiful moon and all the lights on in Nashville to show off all the beauty we have.
After the concert we went over to Past Perfect and had a really nice time there listening to a local singer/songwriter who had a really soulful voice and provided great music for the setting. Talked a little bit to Matt Buttel, the owner, who was a wonderful host. Past Perfect has really blossomed into a nice place to stop in for a visit while downtown and you will always feel welcome there.
Nashville was truly alive all day Saturday!!

We went back to the G.E.C .to see Sugarland as well as Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora perform live for Good Morning America. We arrived at 5:45 and had to wait until around 7:45am before Sugarland finally walked out on the stage. They did wave a little to the crowd but that was about it. I was surprised at how the didn't really try to work the crowd like I expected but the boys from Bon Jovi had the crowd all worked up when they came out. Richie was hanging around the backstage area talking to people and seeming to be having a really fun laid back time while Jon hid in the tent until time to hit the stage. There were quite a few folks disappointed with that but once he hit the stage no one seemed to care. It was a lot of fun to see them in such an intimate setting and to feel the buzz off the crowd. I know I may not do that sort of thing all of the time but it was fun to be out there so early with everyone and watch it all happen.
I think as "Music City" it would be nice to have that sort of thing more often. Fun, talented bands that jam out on the weekends. Count my vote in for that.
