We went to the Feb 15th show and it was fantastic. Little Jimmy Dickens makes the oldest jokes seem fresh again. I had tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing so hard. And the performances were fantastic, especially Marty Stuart (as always), Del McCoury Band, Elizabeth Cook singing Storms Never Last, and Josh Turner singing Firecracker. Connie Smith was a heartbreaker with Darlin' Are You Ever Coming Home. Whispering Bill Anderson crooned his classic Still. Jim Ed Brown was full of energy, and Hal Ketchum was very funny as well as singing a sweet sad song about his grandma. Cherryholmes is always good to hear, especially when playing You Don't Know What Love Is. Bobby Osborne & Charlie Louvin only did one song each, I think - Rocky Top (of course) and I don't remember Mr. Louvin's song but if anyone does, please post it! Something about having a wild weekend with his wife... sort of a funny/sweet song. The Opry is ALWAYS AWESOME!!!
