The "Good Life" to me would be to ride the rails from New York to Portland, Oregon. (Two lines: Lake Shore Limited and Empire Builder.)
On that trip, I'd take with me several Bukowski books and my iPod filled with Tom Waits songs. My camera and my laptop (or pens and paper) would always be with me so that I could document my travels.
