First Saturday Gallery Crawl- June 7

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings on the first Saturday of every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. Two free shuttles provide transportation among the galleries from 6 pm to 10 pm. See the shuttle map and gallery listing here. Listings below include additional information about some of the openings. Please NOTE that 17 galleries are officially on this month's tour. The map includes a complete list of galleries that will be open this Saturday.

"Brother Mel: 50 Years of Fresh Art" celebrates 50 years of Marianist monk Brother Mel making art and is also a celebration of his 80th birthday. This is the 10th annual exhibition of Brother Mel's artwork at The Arts Company. On display through August 15.

"Bonsoir" art sale and reception. Attendees will have a chance to experience a little French ambience and personally meet Alexandre Renoir, great-grandson of Pierre-Auguste Renoir. A special reception and art sale will feature selected artwork from the "Strokes of Genius: The Works of Pierre-Auguste & Alexandre Renoir - Art from Private Collections" exhibition, available for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Tennessee State Museum Foundation.
