Bluebird On The Mountain

The Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory is been the locale for “Bluebird on the Mountain,” a set of outstanding concerts where the usual intimacy and sensibility of the famed Bluebird Café is transferred to a different setting and locale.

Performers include acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Kim Carnes, whose trademark smoky voice has been heard on a host of pop, rock and country hits, most notably “Bette Davis Eyes,” which won Grammys as both Record and Song of the Year. But Carnes has also had several hit albums and, since moving to Nashville in 1994, become a successful writer in country circles. She’s penned No. one tunes for Kenny Rogers and Ronnie Milsap (“Make No Mistake She’s Mine”), Reba McEntire and Vince Gill (“The Heart Won’t Lie”) and joined Rogers on another chart-topper “Don’t Fall In Love With A Dreamer.” Along with Carnes, others on the bill include Greg Barnhill and Dana Cooper, with guitarist Billy Panda and keyboardist Tim Lauer.
