Keith Urban and Big & Rich in downtown Nashville
I walked out of Legends on 5th and Broadway the night that the CMA Awards Show was ending at the Sommet Center (2007 i think) and I ran into Big & Rich and Keith Urban standing there talking. I stood there about 3 ft away just taking it all in. A crowd started gathering so John Rich and Keith Urban hailed a cab and sped off leaving Big Kenny and his wife just standing there.

CMA talk from People Magazine

• Meanwhile, double winner Brad Paisley dished about how he celebrated his male vocalist win: The singer ran offstage, grabbed his pregnant wife sitting in the front row and kissed her! "That was totally spontaneous," he told us of the smooch. "I hadn't seen her all day. She filmed Boston Legal this week and flew back in today, got her make-up done at home and didn't get there until right before. The first time I saw her was from the stage so I had to go down and kiss her because it was like, 'Hi!' "
~
• Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, dropping by the Capitol Records party (briefly) at Lime, one of Kidman's favorite Nashville restaurants. Next stop for the partyhoppers: Ronnie Dunn's very musical bash at his Nashville barn. George Strait entertained the crowd with classic songs and even brought up Reese Witherspoon for "Jackson", reprising the duet she sang as June Carter in 2005's Walk the Line. Martina McBride took a turn on the mic, too, belting out the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and playing a pink tambourine. Also at the bash: Dunn's musical partner Kix Brooks and Dierks Bentley.

Keith Urban Sets Sommet Center on Fire

Friday night Keith Urban walked onto the stage at Sommet Center in front of a nearly, if not sold out crowd of screaming fans and played his guts out.
“We made it back home,” said Urban at the conclusion of an audience-pleasing “Where the Black Top Ends,” which was the second song of the evening. “I can’t tell you how good it feels to be here tonight, but we’ll spend the next two hours explaining it to you, at least.”
And he did, and then some.
Urban engaged the crowd with blistering guitar solos, beaming smiles, infinite energy, multiple sing-a-longs and hit after radio hit.
He and his band, which is laden with jaw-dropping, first-rate players, kicked off the show with “Once in a Lifetime” and glided through songs including “Faster Car” and “Shine” before upping the intensity a step further with an acoustic version of “Raining On Sunday,” which morphed into a sing-a-long. “Stupid Boy” followed, wrapping with an epic, frenzied guitar solo in which the gold Les Paul he was playing got the beating of its life. The audience — dotted with stars including Martina McBride, The Warren Brothers and Rodney Crowell — couldn’t tear its eyes from the stage.

Keith Urban is Finally Back Home in Nashville

~Keith Urban has toured internationally this year, but it's tonight's Sommet Center show that really makes him excited.
~As he begins what he says is a new chapter in his life, he can't help but reflect on his career.
"It doesn't feel like it was that long ago that I was playing the Ace of Clubs and 12th and Porter.
To go from those little places up to this venue is just amazing. It's a great feeling; I certainly don't take it for granted."
The couple purchased a Middle Tennessee farm this year that they're currently renovating.
"Ironically, the first place I took her to was out near Leiper's Fork," he said. "That ended up being out in the general area where we will now call home. I just knew that she would love it for the exact same reasons I love it. There's a pace and a way of living that is much more spiritually satisfying to me than a lot of other places."
Of his farm, he says, "It's something that has quite a bit of room to walk around and grow some grass under our feet and have some privacy, but not feel like we're isolated. We don't want to live in a compound. It's the great thing about Tennessee and especially Nashville. The people are just real people, so they just accept you being neighbors.
He said the couple has a good rhythm here. "Nashville suited us as a couple very quicky. So having been away now for so long making this film, we are just both anxious to get back into that groove again."

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman to Sell Their Nashville Home

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have a contract to sell their home in Nashville, Tenn., after less than two months on the market.
Oscar-winner Ms. Kidman and her husband, the Grammy Award-winning country singer, wanted $2.45 million for the four-bedroom house on two acres. A closing is expected this month. The sale price couldn't be determined.
Located in the Forest Hills neighborhood south of downtown Nashville, the 2004 house measures roughly 8,700 square feet, public records show. A trust purchased the property in 2005, for $1.72 million, the records show. It has a large exercise room, recreation room and outdoor swimming pool. Rick French of French Christianson Patterson & Associates has the listing.

Keith Urban Takes Over the Ellen DeGeneres Studio

When Ellen DeGeneres abruptly canceled the taping of two shows in Los Angeles on Thursday, Keith Urban stepped in and delivered an impromptu set to her studio audience of 400 people.
Keith performed "Everybody," which will air Oct. 22, and "Once in a Lifetime," which will air around Nov. 20. Since his equipment was all plugged in and sound-checked, the generous soul just kept on playing, so the audience would still see a show. He wished Ellen well. "We all love her, and God bless her," he told the audience.

Keith Urban and the Paparazzi

I have taken the picture of Keith Urban walking down the street and being chased by the stalkerazzi. I have said before on this blog that I didn't like the paparazzi and I thing they are awful in the way they treat people as objects and don't regard they privacy or their family time.

I didn't think about it when I put the picture up and a friend of mine mentioned it. I wish nothing but the best for Keith and Nicole and I hope and pray that the paparazzi never comes to Nashville.

Keith Urban in a Motorcyle Accident in Sydney, Australia
See Why We Don't Want the Paparazzi in Nashville?
~C.S. Webbspun

Keith Urban was in a motorcycle accident today in Sydney, Australia, after being followed by paparazzi. He was not injured.
This morning, Urban released the following statement, "Today's incident was the result of one person's desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy. Some have already attempted to inflate the facts, but the reality is this: while out riding to an AA meeting, a time when my privacy is especially important to me, I felt myself being pursued.
"I sped up, and in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal U-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike. In actual fact, my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road. I returned home, got my car, and continued on my way."

Blackbird Studio produces top 3 albums in nation
The top 3 albums on this week's Billboard Top 200 albums chart all have something in common: They were recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville.
Bon Jovi, The White Stripes and Brad Paisley all chose the Berry Hill studio owned by Martina and John McBride to record their albums that were released last week.
Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins and Rascal Flatts have also recorded there, but it's not just for country anymore. "We've been so busy and we're getting a lot of crazy rock stuff," says John, citing The Raconteurs, Kid Rock and Altar Bridge. "It looks like Staind is coming here."
