Hey everybody, thanks for coming by Webbspun Ideas. I've been working on scripts, the business plan, locations, equipment logistics and more lately for "The Nashville Experience with Corey Webb." It has been a daunting task but at the same time it is so much fun and a thrill to see this dream coming to fruition.

I've also been working on my goals for 2010 and there are some that are pretty big but also some that are pretty standard, just like we all have.

This will be a full sensory exploration into Music City.

An On-Line Show from Webbspun Ideas

I'm in the process of creating an online show that will be all about the things I love. I want it to also be a celebration of my wonderful city of Nashville but I also want it to be much more then that. It will have some live music, we'll talk about travel, architecture, food and all things culinary. They folks that come down to Past Perfect when we are shooting will find some drink specials as well as food for those "in the audience."

We'll talk about what people think about when they hear someone mention "Nashville" and what is right in what they think of us here or what is just a myth. It will be a learning process for me but I look forward to the adventure and the challenge. Shooting will be starting at the end of October in various parts of Nashville with the actual "set" shots being filmed in mid-November.

I hope you stay with me and learn, laugh and enjoy as much as I will.

Richard Branson's Next Challenge

On a day when his luck nearly ran out, like his friend Steve Fossett's, British billionaire Richard Branson moved a step closer to joining the superheated Las Vegas casino business.

Branson, the founder and chairman of Virgin Group, confirmed Wednesday that he's working on a Las Vegas deal.

"We had some meetings today and I think Virgin will be flying over Las Vegas within a couple years," Branson told me during a red carpet interview at Tryst nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas.

Rumors have been flying for several years that Branson, one of Europe's most successful entrepreneurs, has plans to take on Las Vegas .

Meanwhile, with his injured hand heavily bandaged and still sore from another bruising stunt, Branson, 57, was counting his lucky stars.

In one of his most dangerous outings of all, Branson survived a wild and windy 407-foot plunge from the top of the Palms' Fantasy Tower.

"I've never done a stunt like that before," said Branson, who took such a beating that his tuxedo pants were torn apart. "That was my first fall like that. I've done some mad things but I've never done anything quite like that."

Tricky 20 mph wind gusts kept slamming him into glass and concrete during his fall. He was wearing a full-body harness connected to a cable.

" You're going 100 mph and you're banging against the wall. It was slightly unnerving. But I'm well, everything's fine."

Book of the Week

I read this book and thought it was interesting in the concept of taking a trip like that with my dad but also in the adventures and misadventures that they shared. I truly enjoyed it and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories of travel and relationships.

My Old Man and the Sea by David Hays and Daniel Hays



As a child, David Hays regarded sailing around Cape Horn as the ultimate adventure. Now, in middle age, he makes the voyage with his 24-year-old son, hoping to regain a youthful perspective on life. See Them in Concert and Maybe Someday, Fly With Them

Iron Maiden have announced their most ambitious and extraordinary touring plans ever for their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008. For the first leg of the tour, slated to start in February 2008, singer Bruce Dickinson who is a qualified airline captain flying for Astraeus Airlines, will be piloting the band, its 60-person crew, and 12 tons of equipment in a converted Boeing 757 decorated with Maiden and Eddie designs! Dickinson will log over 50,000 miles on the trek, which includes 20 dates on 5 continents, including shows in India, Japan, North America, Central and South America, and Australia (for the first time in 15 years).

After the Captain Bruce-piloted first leg, the tour continues with more concerts in North America in late May and June before finishing with a third leg in July and August encompassing major stadiums and festivals all over Europe.

Comments Bruce Dickinson, “We had the idea last year of converting a jumbo jet into effectively what would be a flying 113 ton ’splitter bus’ for touring and we have been working seriously on it ever since. It’s pretty complex but in the end we were able, with a lot of help from Astraeus Airlines, to overcome all the technicalities of customizing the plane for our purposes. We are taking out the back 10 rows of seats to fit in a customized cargo hold that we can use again in the future if this jaunt works. This is in addition to all the standard storage holds. By taking band, personnel and equipment in one form of transport it makes all the touring so much easier and overcomes the logistical difficulty of people and equipment going in different planes. We can even work out exactly how big our carbon footprint is and take care of that responsibility! We will be packing as much of the show into the plane as we possibly can for this first leg and intend to give the fans something very special to remember. And it allows me to combine 2 of my greatest passions, music and flying!!”




This is purely awesome. It’s been common knowledge that Bruce is a licensed pilot and captains commercial flights when he’s not busy with the band. But can you imagine playing a 2 hour-long Iron Maiden show, running around like a maniac the way Bruce does, and then having to fly from one continent to the other? Absolutely amazing, this guy.

“There are no strangers.” It is one of my favourite sayings. Have you ever been on your own wondering around a town, a city or countryside? Imagine being lost, and someone walking up to you and helping you out, telling you how to walk or maybe giving you some water or even a ride.
Imagine how this may feel. You’re lost, unsure, uncertain, maybe even stressed out, not knowing if you will find your way again, unsure if you will have a place to sleep tonight. It is getting dark already and suddenly out of the blue a stranger appears and helps you out.

Imagine the wonderful feeling. You are being helped by a complete stranger, who is totally willing to get out of the way just to make sure you will be fine.
