Vince Young Party Picture Apology

Today, Titans quarterback Vince Young apologized to children who may have seen shirtless pictures of him in a bar, including one where he appears to drink liquor straight from the bottle. Even so, he doesn't believe he did anything wrong:

"I apologize to some of the kids if they did see it because I am trying to be a role model for them. But at the same time, I was just trying to have fun with (friends). That is the life of a quarterback, somebody of my status. I guess somebody was trying to make some money and sold the picture to the web site. But at the same time that is the life I chose to live. But it is not going to stop me from having fun. I just have to watch myself. They always want to try and get some negative pub on me. It wasn't really nothing bad. ... Everybody deserves to have a good time every once in a while during the offseason."

Titans Win Again and Have a Chance at the Playoffs

Vince Young threw a pair of touchdown passes to Roydell Williams and the Titans ralled to defeat the Chiefs 26-17 today at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Titans (8-6) remained alive in the AFC playoff race with two games to play -- next Sunday at LP Field against the Jets and Dec. 30 at Indianapolis.

With the Titans trailing 17-13 with 2:24 left in the third quarter, Young found Williams for a 41-yard touchdown play, their second scoring hookup of the game, to give Tennessee a 20-17 lead.

The Titans would not trail again, adding the third and fourth Rob Bironas field goals of the game to close out the scoring.

I'm Singing...."Why Titans, Why Titans, Why Make Us Cry?"

Well, they have done it again. We lost a game that we had until the last two minutes of the game. Dang it! This is so frustrating to deal with this cast of characters doing this kind of stuff over and over. We had it guys...what happened?

Here is an excerpt from the Tennessean article about the game;

LaDainian Tomlinson's 16-yard touchdown run in overtime gave the Chargers a 23-17 victory over the Titans today at LP Field.

The Titans' playoff hopes took a blow as they fell to 7-6 heading into their final three games, beginnining next Sunday at Kansas City.

After emerging as one of the NFL's first-half surprises, Tennessee (6-5) has lost three in a row and its hold on a wild card playoff berth. The offense has been sloppy and the defense has lost its ability to stop anybody, giving up 28, 34 and 35 points during the slide.

This one really got to them.



Forlorn quarterback Vince Young sat on the bench by himself for seven minutes after the game ended, all kinds of things running through his bowed head.

"Thoughts, man, just thoughts, trying to see what's going on, what's the problem, what we need to do to get back to where we need to be at," said Young, who was limited by a bruised thigh and a strained ankle. "Why is this all of a sudden happening to us, going back to that bad feeling that we had last year with getting our butt whooped?"

With Marty Stuart's Sparkle & Twang exhibit as the sparkling, twanging background, Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Rodney Crowell, Mike Farris and other artists paid tribute to Porter Wagoner on Wednesday night at the Tennessee State Museum.

"We've been so inspired by him for so long," said Emmylou, who sang three Porter songs with Buddy before inviting Jim up for a resplendent version of "Satisfied Mind."

The event was a kickoff to the Americana Music Conference and a chance for Porter's friends, family and fans to remember the Wagonmaster


~Titans QB Vince Young not only gave away candy Halloween night, but he also signed footballs (which he provided) and photos for trick-or-treaters at his Sumner County home.


~Jessica Simpson will be in town next week to attend the BMI and CMA Awards.

Expect Vince Young to Keep Performing and Winning

Yes, Young already has a trip to Hawaii in his NFL scrapbook after one season. If the kid can book a Pro Bowl berth in a truncated rookie season, why can’t more success come in his first full season as the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans?

Yet, one of the burning questions around the NFL as training camps commence seems to be whether Young can have success in Tennessee. Don't worry. The guy is a already an NFL star.

Hall of Fame-type potential. There’s no way this should be a storyline of the summer. The concentration should be on how Michael Vick’s indictment will impact the Falcons, Donovan McNabb’s recovery in Philadelphia, Randy Moss’ impact on New England, Peyton Manning’s title defense. Not Vince Young.

The kid is a guaranteed success. Why? Because Vince Young has yet to fail.
