Judge Bean says he is coming back

12th Avenute location

Fans of the Texas-style barbecue stylings of Aubrey Bean will be glad to know that, even though both locations of Judge Bean's BBQ shut down recently, Bean plans to be back on the food scene in January.

Bean, 55, was sidelined by a heart attack in September, and complications followed. "After I got out of the hospital, I just needed to take some time off," says Bean, who says he's been exercising during his recovery and lost 70 pounds.

Judge Bean's Bar-B-Que is Moving and They are Growing

The well-known barbecue restaurant is hitching up its saddle and settling in new territory in the former Brown's Store at 6605 Lascassas Pike. The business is scheduled to open Wednesday, said owner Aubrey Bean.

The first Judge Bean's Bar-B-Que and Steakhouse opened in Nashville in 2003. It's current location on 12th Avenue North near downtown Nashville will relocate behind Greer Stadium the first of next year.

The Lascassas restaurant will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m Wednesday through Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday afternoons, the restaurant initially will close in the afternoon. Bean said that may change depending on customer traffic.

A breakfast menu with tacos, eggs and hash browns will be featured served until 10 each morning. Bean said it's also BYOB - bring your own beer, wine or whiskey.

Bean said he and Rutherford County Sheriff Truman Jones are close friends, and Jones asked him to move out to Lascassas. Bean described the area as being "more me."

4 out of 5 Wont Go Back to Judge Bean's

After Judge Bean's did so poorly, time after time, on the health inspections it is understandable that people aren't sure to rush back through their doors. In my last survey, 4 out of 5 people said they would not go back but with time and with constant proof that they have turned things back around perhaps the public will give them our trust again. I hate to see a restaurant go under but they all must have cleaner and better track records then this. Good luck Aubrey...

Keep getting out in Nashville and being a tourist in your own city and don't forget to enjoy good food.

Can Judge Bean's Clean Up Their Act?

Will you ever eat there again after seeing this kind of track record? It will be a very hard sell to get me back in their doors.
