This was such a delicious day and the weather was very beautiful. After eating all this food and being ready for a nap, we went out and did a family photo outside on the grassy knoll. We had lots of fun with that because we got some great family photos that are now on the wall but also some fun, goofy ones that most of you all won't see. Ha!!
From start to finish the food was excellent, as was the service. We had lots of fun and, as always, I look forward to going back again soon. We had leftovers for days as well.......yummmm

"They" say..."There's always time"
Time.
If there is anything in the world that is so universally poignant, it's time.
Try as you might, you can't fight time. You can't hurry it, you can't slow it down - oh, but if only we could.
Time never does what we want it to do. This steady, consist, unflappable enitity behaves (at times) as if it has a mind of it's own. Like it wants to rebel against us, us petty, insignificant humans who so desperately wish they could control it, to mold it to suit our needs. It laughs in our face, it does what it wishes and we can only go along. We have no choice. We are all victims of time until our time is up.
How many times has a vacation gone by so quickly - before you know it, you are back at home, back to where you started. It's like you never left. Nothing has changed - time has made progress on bringing you back, it's neglected the things you wanted changed. That - takes more time.
How many times have we flipped through pictures and are reminded that "it was only a year ago." Or perhaps, we think "Wow, it's been a year already."

Nashville Tiki History: Omni Hut, Mahi Mahi and Blue Hawaii

Swanky recently had an opportunity to sit down with the owner of Smyrna, Tennessee’s Omni Hut, Jim Walls, while visiting to help Turner South film a “Tiki Blue Ribbon” show there. While talking to Walls and his family, Swanky learned some details about Walls’ history. Walls started the Omni Hut (initially named “Chinese Cuisine”) after retiring from the Air Force in 1960; he had taken up cooking as a hobby and second job during his travels with the military, most notably in pre-World War II Honolulu. Walls also briefly owned the Mahi Mahi restaurant in nearby Nashville, which later became Blue Hawaii. The Mahi Mahi had an unusual, wide A-frame entrance; sadly the building was recently torn down. The Omni Hut is largely famous for two things: incredibly warm hospitality, and DIY drinks. The Omni Hut does not have a liquor license, but drink-spiking is encouraged… and having a little control over the rum in your drink is not a bad thing at all.

Staff members of a Murfreesboro elementary school staged a fake gunman attack during a school trip, telling them it was not a drill as children cried and hid under tables.
Parents of the sixth-grade students at Scales Elementary were outraged after learning about the prank that occurred Thursday night during a weeklong trip to a state park.
Assistant Principal Don Bartch, who was present, said the scenario was intended as a learning experience and only lasted five minutes.
"We got together and discussed what we would have done in a real situation," he said.
During the last night of the school trip to Fall Creek Falls, a state park about 130 miles southeast of Nashville, staff members convinced the 69 students that there was a gunman on the loose.

Snake Invades Car In Nashville
Shirley Hollis found a note on her car stating that a "very large snake has crawled underneath" the vehicle. "So, of course, I thought it was a joke," said Hollis, after eating at the Pancake Pantry.
But she quickly found out that it was no joke. A snake had indeed made itself at home, underneath her car.
Several concerned citizens tried to help out using a clothes hanger and a stick. They tried to pull it from the wheel well. Finally it was wrestled free from her car and placed in a box but not before it bit a UPS worker on the hand.
"I took a stick and put it behind his head and I grabbed it but I didn't get the stick close enough. He swung around and got me a little bit," said UPS store worker Josh Tucker.
The snake was not poisonous.
